Recognizing Our Members’ Recent Publication in the BCMJ

The SMH MSA is excited to share with you that several members from our association had their articles recently published in the theme issue of the BC Medical Journal (BCMJ, May 2022, Volume 64|No. 4, pages 145-192).

Dr. Yazdan Mirzanejad served as the guest editorialist for this theme issue: current approaches to infectious diseases, Part 1. He selected eight important and practical topics and matched them with eight groups of experts in those fields to provide the readers with the most up-to-date information.

One of those experts was Dr. Michael Chapman, a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, UBC, a full-time infectious diseases physician at SMH and JPOCSC, as well as the local head of the Department of Medicine at JPOCSC and regional head of the Division of Infectious Diseases in Fraser Health. Dr. Chapman and his team published an article titled “Delivery models, efficacy, safety, and cost reduction of outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy in British Columbia”.

Within this theme issue, Dr. Gregory D. Deans and his co-authors also published an article titled “Sexually transmitted infections in British Columbia: An update.” Dr. Deans is a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, UBC, and an infectious diseases physician at SMH.

Congratulations to Dr. Mirzanejad, Dr. Chapman, and Dr. Deans on your most recent publication and recognition by your peers and the BCMJ. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and research findings with the community.
