This donation is being sent along with my sincerest thanks for the excellent care I received in the Intensive Care Unit at SMH last Feb 2025. I was transferred from Delta Hospital to Surrey in the very early hours of Feb 21, heavily sedated and with a ventilator.
I “woke up” about 40 hrs later, surrounded by family and hospital staff. Later that evening my ventilator was removed, and I was able to ask and find out what had happened to me. My family was full of praise for the care and attention I needed when I first arrived in the ICU and for the kindness that they also received.
I was indeed fortunate to experience that special care and attention during the rest of my stay at the ICU. The nurses and doctors assigned to me not only provided the care and attention I needed but were also very encouraging and offered useful advice which I still make use of today.
I felt rather sad a being transferred back to Delta after my one week in Surrey ICU but was thankful for the experience of receiving such wonderful care in your ICU.
Along with my family, I want to thank all the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital for a very caring and positive experience.
